Overview
Program Planning and Evaluation (previously Program Review) is the systematic process
for the evaluation and planning of programs at Columbia College. This process provides
programs with the opportunity to establish goals, request resources, review data about
the program, and most importantly - reflect and plan. Program Planning and Evaluation
consistents of two parts: the Annual Program Update and Comprehensive Program Planning
and Evaluation.
Annual Program Update
The Annual Program Update is done every year (if no Comprehrensive Program Planning
and Evaluation is planned). Annual Program Update is a shorter process that primarily
focuses on creating or providing updates on program goals and requesting resources.
Comprehensive Program Planning and Evaluation
The Comprehensive Program Planning and Evaluation is done every four years and is
similar to the Annual Program Update in that you create and update goals and request
resources but additionally programs review data and dig into more detail.
Annual Review Cycle and Responsibility List
Please review the Program Planning and Evaluation Annual Review Cycle and the Program
Planning and Evaluation Responsibility List to see who is doing program review and
if your program should complete the Annual Program Update or the Comprehensive Program
Planning and Evaluation form.
Program Planning and Evaluation forms will open on the first week of the start of the semester.
During the first week SLOPR / Instruction Administrative Secretary out emails to complete
the Annual Program Update or the Comprehensive Program Planning and Evaluation Form
Develop draft e-mails for each review.
If research is needed as part of a Comprehensive Program Planning and Evaluation process,
please request that information by February 1st.
Deadline for submission is March 1st.
The Columbia College Research and Planning Office will:
Generate a report for Resource Requests and Program goals that will be sent to SLOPR
Committee. The Resource Request report will also be sent to the Finance Committee.
Send completed forms to the Deans
Deans will provide feedback by April 1st.
SLOPR Committee will review Forms and reports by May 1st.
Summer
The College Research and Planning Office will post completed forms to the college
website. Additionally, the College Research and Planning Office will post Program
Resource Requests Summary (with approved / not approved status) and Program Goals
Summary reports to the website.
Fall
Institutional Effectiveness Committee with review the Program Resource Requests Summary
and the Program Goals Summary reports at the beginning of the Fall semester.
At the end of the Fall Semester the College Research and Planning Office will work with deans to review the cycle
and responsibility list it is correct for the upcoming Spring.

Coming soon! This section will have completed PPE Forms as well as summary reports
for goals and resource requests.
