How to Attend an Online Tutoring Session

  • Log into your TracCloud account using your Columbia College credentials
  • View your scheduled appointment dashboard 
  • 5-minutes before the start time of your appointment the “enter this online session” icon appears
  • Click the icon to join via Zoom and be marked present for your session

STAR-CA

STAR-CA is a consortium of peer and professional tutors from participating California community colleges (CCC) who offer tutoring services to students.  Peer tutors from Columbia College are part of this program. Columbia College students can meet with tutors from this program: STAR-CA tutoring schedule. 

Students can connect with a live tutor and get private, one-on-one tutoring in real time. STAR-CA is entirely web-based. Students will be able to access STAR-CA using their desktop computer, laptop, or mobile device (smartphone/tablet). They do not need to download or install any software.  All tutoring takes place on an intuitive whiteboard interface and is facilitated with course specific tools and functions. 

To Access STAR-CA, click on "Online Tutoring" in the left navigation of your Canvas course shells to access the service. Scroll down on the screen and click on "STAR-CA."

NetTutor

If an AAC tutor is not available, students can access live online tutoring in many academic subjects through NetTutor’s trained tutors. NetTutor tutors are available for live sessions, to answer submitted questions, and to review papers 24 hours a day, any day of the week.

 NetTutor Services

  • Ask questions to live tutors in a variety of subject areas.
  • Submit papers for feedback to the Paper Center.
  • Submit questions to the Q & A Center. Responses will arrive within 24 hours.

To Access NetTutor, click on "Online Tutoring" in the left navigation of your Canvas course shells to access the service. Scroll down on the screen and click on "NetTutor."
