Due to inclement weather Columbia College has transitioned to remote operations for the week of February 17-20, 2026. While most operations will be remote, the campus will be open between 10:00 am – 4:00 pm each day. The campus will be closed from 4:00 pm – 10:00 am on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Campus will remain closed from 4:00 pm Friday, February 20 – 8:00 am Monday, February 23, 2026.

The Writing Center offers the following:

  • A quiet space dedicated to writing in ALL disciplines
  • Style manuals, handbooks, and English textbooks for student use
  • Editing/Proofreading supplies: highlighters, pens, pencils, etc
  • A large table and chairs for group or individual work
  • Three computers with FREE printing (up to 10 pages per week)
  • An inspiring view of the lake

Some possible ways students can utilize a writing tutor:

  •   Brainstorm writing topics/prompts
  •   Build outlines
  •   Ask questions related to the writing process
  •   Review proofreading strategies
  •   Review formatting and style (MLA, APA, etc)
  •   Review rubrics and writing examples provided
