Columbia College’s First “Out of Darkness Walk” Was a Success

Partnering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), Columbia College Student Health & Wellness hosted our first “Out of the Darkness” Suicide Prevention and Awareness Campus Walk, on April 10th, 2026.

The Out of the Darkness Walks are about raising crucial funds and creating a safe space for those impacted by suicide, and Columbia College is proud to support these efforts that can help save lives and bring hope to the community.

Participants gathered at Manzanita Arch/Lakeside Patio, and the event, which included a resources fair, surpassed a $10,000 goal. This is proof of what’s possible when people come together with purpose and compassion!
