A Message from the President
The murder of George Floyd sparked a series of protests and call for change across America. Institutions of higher learning have a particularly important role to play to bring about the appropriate social change and better understanding of race relations in our society. Columbia College rejects racism in any shape, form, or action by any member of the campus community, including all employees and students.
Columbia College strives to maintain a campus that promotes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
A task force has been formed to raise awareness about racial inequality, create an inclusive campus climate, and engage in difficult conversations related to white privilege and microaggression. This task force, comprising of faculty, classified staff, and managers will work directly with the President to foster a more equitable campus culture. I invite you to participate in the dialogue, raise awareness about racial inequality, and reaffirm the commitment of Columbia College to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Santanu Bandyopadhyay, Ph.D.
President, Columbia College
