Columbia College Foundation

Thank you for your interest in the Columbia College Foundation!

The Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports Columbia College students through scholarships and support for various services, programs, and facilities on campus – such as our athletics teams, student organizations, publications, and community facilities like the campus tennis courts.

Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

For more information regarding making a gift to the Foundation, please call Beccie Michael at (209) 588-5055, or email michaelb@yosemite.edu .

Our current fundraising priority is for the Osher Scholarship Endowment Initiative. This incredible opportunity to create a permanent fund for annual scholarships is inspired by a $25 million gift by the Osher Foundation to the California Community College system. The Osher Foundation has pledged an additional $25 million as match for funds raised by June 30, 2011.

Columbia College’s goal is to raise enough funds to support 25 annual Osher Scholarships, which requires a $500,000 endowment. As of July 2010, we are approximately half way towards meeting our goal! For more information, or to learn about naming opportunities for these scholarships that are awarded each year in perpetuity, please contact Beccie Michael or click here.

Osher Scholarship Endowment Initiative

Overview
The goal of the California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment is to support student success by creating a permanent fund for scholarships. The Osher Foundation made an initial gift of $25 million to the California Community Colleges that began benefitting students in fall 2009. Another $25 million will be contributed by the Osher Foundation as matching funds for donations raised before June 30, 2011.

What this means for Columbia College Students

While California Community College enrollment fees are low, tutuion currently represents just 5% of the total educational costs for students. Osher Scholarships assist students with textbooks, equipment, uniforms, and other instructional supplies.

Each year, hundreds of students apply for scholarships at Columbia College to assist them in reaching their educational goals. With the support of our community, the Foundation hopes to raise enough funds to be able to support 25 students each year with a $1,000 Osher Scholarship.
