\Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education

(CARE)

CARE is a state-funded program that provides additional assistance for EOPS students who are single parents of young children on CalWORKs and/or are receiving TANF (cash aid) for themselves or their children.

What services does CARE provide to qualified students?

Child care assistance

Who qualifies for CARE?

A CARE student must be....

An EOPS student who is 18 or older.
Enrolled in 12 units or more as a new CARE student.
A single parent and head of household.
A parent of a child (or children) under the age of 14.
A CalWORKs participant and/or receive TANF for self and/or children.

How does a student apply for CARE?

The EOPS application is used to screen for possible CARE students. Upon becoming eligible for EOPS, potential CARE students are referred to the CARE coordinator to determine CARE eligibility.
